1986- Graduated from the University of Evansville with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Evansville, Indiana.

1981- Employed by Wimpeys Mechanical Engineering Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

1982- Employed by Hawker Siddley Power Engineering, LTD for three months, United Arab Emirates.

1983-1986 Employed by National Can Corporation, Evansville, Indiana.

1987 To Present Employed by Dayspring Village, Inc. As Executive Director, Hilliard, Florida.

 

Related Experience:

Member of Florida Health Care Association (FHCA)

Served as the ALF District Vice President for Northeast Florida for eight years.

Elected chairman of the local planning group on the reorganization of HRS in 1990.

Served on the statewide ALF Committee for eight years.

Elected statewide ALF Vice President for Florida Health Care Association in July 1998. Continue to serve as the ALF Vice President and member of FHCA board of directors as well as member of executive committee.

Was Appointed in 1997 by Secretary of the Department of Children and Families to serve on the legislatively mandated work group on procurement of mental health services for residents of Assisted Living Facilities. Report issued to the legislature.

Was appointed in 1999 by the Department of Elder Affairs to serve on a legislative work group on unlicensed assisted living facilities.

Serves on the ALF rule development work group representing Florida Health Care Association. Work group just completed major revisions to the administrative rule affecting ALFs.

Have provided expert review services in ALF civil cases since 1996.

Works regularly with legislative issues on behalf of ALFs in Tallahassee.

Serves on the board of directors of Florida Advocates for Community Care for Disabled Adults, St. Petersburg, Florida.

Serves on the Florida Coalition for Optimal Mental Health and Aging since 1998, Tampa, Florida.

Attends numerous national conventions or other events pertaining to Assisted Living Facilities.

Has presented seminars and education courses on subject matter pertaining to ALF care and supervision or resident needs.

Has written numerous issues paper related to public policy, aging and ALF care.

Has published papers in ALF trade journals on policy issues affecting ALF.

Actively involved in legislative lobbying and policy debates in Tallahassee regarding ALF Care.

Member: National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Amelia Island Chamber of Commerce, Florida Farm Bureau, Nassau County Young Republicans.
